About House Veltaris
A fortified city on cliffs above turbulent water, four hundred thousand permanent residents and twice that cycling through — all documented, all taxed on length of stay and profit made. Kraken's Reach was a pirate cove before it was a city, and the founder's words on the day he bowed are still repeated in the streets: he despised kings, and knelt only for his children's safety. The rune-carved spikes that keep the sea monsters off their coast were made by Emberlyn clerics, and the crown took the credit.
