Joe

Dungeon Master (Papa aka Talon Falkrest)

Welcome to RWA, everyone! My name is Joe, and RWA is my channel for all things D&D and nerdom. I'm the DM for a wonderful group of people who make Saturdays the highlight of my week. Outside of D&D, I work in HR for a social work company and do voice-over work. I'm also an avid writer (when I can find the time). I started RWA, but it wouldn't be what it is now without the amazing folks listed below. RWA wouldn't be nearly as great without you!

Favorite character played

My favorite NPC was Solviess Immeral from the Illica Dark One Saga. He turned out to be the creator of existence, the devourer of all realities, and the parties' mentor. Wild times. As for PCs, Rian Al'Vain is my favorite by a long shot. He was a tribute to some of my favorite characters: Al'lan Mandragoran from Wheel of Time, Aragorn from Lord of the Rings, and Geran Hullmaster from the Blades of the Moonsea.

Biggest inspiration

I hinted at it earlier, but Wheel of Time, Lord of the Rings, and the Blades of the Moonsea are huge influences. I'm also inspired by theatre. I think theatre and video games form a venn diagram, with D&D sitting right in the center. Plays like The Pillowman, Macbeth, and Eurydice, along with musicals like Hadestown, Twisted, and EPIC, have occupied my mind lately.

Least favorite food

Coconut and any coconut by-product. Disgusting.

Hottest take

Fudging dice rolls isn't bad in moderation, and I'm tired of pretending otherwise.

Edwinn Falkrest

Hey, everyone my name is Jonathan! I'm a husband, father of a beautiful daughter, drummer, software developer, and lover of all things nerdy. I've been playing D&D for about five years now, three of those with RWA and it continues to be an absolute blast!

Favorite character played

Edwinn because his character is closest to who I am as a person and I connect so much with him!

Biggest inspiration

Castlevania, Critical Role, Marvel, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter

Least favorite food

Soft Shell Crab

Hottest take

Other tabletop RPG systems are just not as good as D&D.

Gemma

Xanthe Falkrest

Hi hi!! I'm Gemma, that one player from Down Under. My background is less in arts (though used to do a lot of classical music, specifically flute and bassoon) and more so in history and politics - but my favourite thing is taking unserious things too seriously, so it works out. When I realised D&D was a way to play make-believe with friends in a more socially acceptable way - I was hooked. I am also an avid hobby/craft collector, and adore my darling pet rats!

Favorite character played

Twigg has got to be my choice. Playing her was such joy, love, and catharsis in ways I really didn't expect. I loved watching her grow, and the bonds she held with the party were so good and unique compared to anything I have played previously.

Biggest inspiration

Literally anything and everything. Just looking at various ideas/things/extremes and just asking 'why even is that? How do you get there?' and shoving it into a character.

Least favorite food

Fish. 100% Fish. Unless it's cooked tuna (which is elite) don't give it to me, or I WILL gag.

Hottest take

'Joke songs' in Eurovision often have higher artistic and production quality than half the other entries. We get it. You're in love, and probably sad too. Ban Loreen. Give us more KAJ.

Kayla

Cailynn Falkrest

Howdy! My name is Kayla and I am a high school theatre teacher, avid crocheter, and horror enthusiast. As a huge theatre kid, I quickly gravitated to D&D and have been playing for many years. I am a sucker for a good story and complicated characters. I love to read and play video games. I am proud momma of a beautiful dog named Aspen and a handsome cat named Trouble.

Favorite character played

Ser Nalfein Forrester. He was a rough around the edges dark elf who through the loss of his family and the finding of a new one became a Knight of legend. This character was so far from my own personality that it really challenged me as a storyteller.

Biggest inspiration

Weirdly enough, most A24 films have really inspired me in many ways.

Least favorite food

Egg Salad. NASTY.

Hottest take

Country music aint all that bad. Low key really slaps.

Ryan

Marik Veltaris-Falkrest

Hello there. I'm Ryan, proud player of Marik Veltaris-Falkrest. I work at Costco but have a degree in Professional Writing which I use to help inspire much of my character performances. I adore movies and stories of any kind, always looking for the next piece that moves me.

Favorite character played

Proud of every character I've made, but I think creatively I am very proud with how Morwen Dulski turned out. Took a lot of risks with her and she was incredibly fun to play.

Biggest inspiration

I try to take inspiration from everything. Obviously my own life is what I try to draw upon the most because they are the most personal stories I can tell, but otherwise I love me some fantastic films and books.

Least favorite food

Oatmeal

Hottest take

For DND, Strength needs to be given more love. Dexterity outshines it in almost every way.

Octavia Falkrest

Hello! I'm Felicity and so happy to be one of the players for Crimson Court. I grew up in theatre and doing a lot of creative art. I was huge into writing my own little stories which I think made D&D a natural fit for me! Joe has been my DM for a very long time now and I hope to be playing with this group for many years. I also have a pet Rabbit named Timpani (the love of my life).

Favorite character played

So hard to choose but Lilah from the Isles of Iverion campaign was such a fun character to slip into. I love all my girls though.

Biggest inspiration

I'm quite moody and love to write poetry on a sad rainy day. Nature itself really inspires me - the morning sunshine, standing by the ocean, letting snow collect on my hair - all of it evokes creativity for me.

Least favorite food

Mushrooms

Hottest take

I love mystery stories but I hated Knives Out. I'll die on this hill. It sucks.
