Before

Our session begins with a flashback, back to the Night of Crimson Tears with Raynere and Elendara Falkrest. Elendara enjoys spending time with Raynere and speaking of her sons, not aware that Raynere is a servant of Mephisto under an unknown deal. Raynere is warned about the attack before it happens, though is warned to not give any word of warning to Elendara or her family. He sprang ready for action when the screams started, only waiting long enough to not draw suspicion. He finds Elendara and Edemere, with Talon still missing. He heads off, searching for the boy and determined to save him.

Back in the present day, the heirs try and decide what to do with this information. Not feeling able to convince Talon with their minimum communication, it's ultimately decided to wait until they return to Crown's Rest to address Raynere and figure out the truth.

Edwinn checks in on Xanthe, concerned about the chains he saw around her wrist. Xanthe says that her sacrifice was for the betterment of Ederia and she would do it again. Edwinn encourages her to come to him should she ever need help.

Via goes to check on Cailynn, but finds her frustrated with the realization of Raynere, questioning if she can trust anyone in their family after all the secrets and lies. Despite her frustration, she speaks of her love for Via, and hopes that they can find a way to make things better.

The next morning, Marik gathers the heirs and speaks with them. He opens with his frustrations with Edwinn in the Seculchur, but soon transitions to himself, stating how he wants to be free to live his life without waiting for his parent's approval. He abdicates the throne of Ederia, and promises Thorn that they can do anything they want moving forward.

After traveling on Ophelia to meet their allies, Xepharos explains the ritual the cult will be using to bring back the black dragon, saying that they would use souls and the black dragon egg as a sacrifice to bring him back.

Xepharos lists out a plan where he and the heirs will sneak in first to make sure its safe for the bulk of their forces to follow. And once the ritual is interrupted, he will need Cailynn to help him veilwalk so they can funnel the souls away from them in a less destructive manner.

With the plan decided, the heirs take care of the rest of their remaining business.

Cailynn speaks to Samson, prompting him to take another berry so that they can speak. Samson mentions that the amulet that was meant for Cailyth are the remnants of the patron that was killed. Cailynn assures Samon that despite not understanding everything, she knows that both Samsons have always made her feel safe, and she will not turn on them no matter what happens.

Marik accepts knighthood from Syr Torwynn, requesting to be dubbed as "The Green Knight".

Via speaks to Xepharos, stating that she knows that she will need to kill her friends, and requests for Xepharos to take the blame when that happens. Xepharos says he deserves a worse punishment, but Via dismisses that, stating that she was asking for what her family needed before leaving.

Edwinn uses the severing needle, freeing Via from the grip that the cult had on her.

With their business taken care of the heirs rest, ready to launch their final assault against the cult, to stop their twisted ritual.
