Arcanveil Academy

The heirs arrive at Arcanveil Academy, ready to pick up Landor but learning that he has about an hour of classes left. The heirs split up, with Xanthe and Edwinn taking a walk and bonding, Marik speaking to his future mother-in-law, and Cailynn and Via heading to the restricted section to the find the book for Via's ritual. After speaking with the attendants, they take the book with them and head back to the ship.

The King's Hand gather and Via explains the draconic ritual that she's been performing for over a year now. The group is divided on what steps to take, but ultimately agree to let Xanthe translate the text and see if she learns anything more. Meanwhile, Marik goes to check in on Via, comforting her and eventually convincing her to speak with Talon about what's happening.

After picking up Landor, Via speaks to her father and slightly breaks down, not prepared to accept his anger or wrath. Despite this, Talon seems surprisingly understanding of the situation, and ensures Via that she will not go to jail or be executed. He agrees to speak and figure out what he can do to best help her. However, he does seem rather bothered that Cailynn veilwalked and how Morgana seemed to encourage Via to hide this.

Talon summons Cailynn and warns her about veilwalking, with Cailynn insisting that she must practice and keep trying. She and Talon disagree on this, and he apologizes but expresses his fear of what will happen to Cailynn if she keeps rising herself. He then opens up to her about how he thinks the Concord of the Crown should be edited and the Serpent Grove be turned into its own Kingdom. He wants Cailynn to lead that effort, which she agrees to.

Xanthe gathers everyone back and explains several of the things that she read from the book, warning of the dangers the ritual could cause and how she believes they are connected to the recent dragon eggs.

Talon agrees to bring Morgana to Faithspire, deciding that Gareth will stay in Crown's Rest in order to make sure that the Capital is not without a member of the council to oversee things.

As the group disperses, Xanthe speaks to Talon, opening up about her worry that they could have acted against this devil sooner had Talon given her the letter sooner. Talon says that he would have done everything he could had he known what was in the letter, but wished to honor his mother's wishes to not give Xanthe the letter until she embraced the life of an adventurer.

Meanwhile, Edwinn heads to his room and attempts to speak to the mysterious gauntlet. Finally, a voice responds and seems to agree to help Edwinn, though insists that there would be some sort of a price to pay. It agrees to help Via get out of her connection to the dragon ritual, to help kill Edwinn's enemies, and to protect Edwinn's family at any cost.

The session ends with the King's Hand arriving at Skyhaven, prepared for the Sentinel's Tournament to begin shortly.
