Kasya Y'Seraphil, formerly of House Astralor, is Xanthe's mother and a devotee of the Order of the Edict. Xandoria blessed her with astral eyes, which she keeps hidden beneath the Order's red and black ceremonial robes. Talon remembers a woman full of passion and curiosity who would talk for hours; the Order remade her into someone rigid and remote. Xanthe was a small child when she left, with no warning she could understand, and the Edict's laws forbid contact between them. House Astralor treats the whole matter as a family embarrassment no one discusses.
