Circe

Via's mother and Talon's queen, met almost entirely in what she left behind. Marik relives their wedding as the moment the family he wanted stopped being available to him. Via watches her mother tell her father that she must return to her homeland, and make it plain that Via does not have the gift. When Via pictures her mother now the image slides between Circe and Xanthe, and she says so to Xanthe. Circe is still working at a distance through her visions: Xanthe is carried off by Crownclaw hands as a price paid on one, because Circe saw that Xanthe alone would not fail the task.
