Our Stance on Art & AI Imagery

Dear Roll With Advantage Community,

I wanted to take a moment to address something important about our website and the visual content you see here. While I wish I could afford to have every single piece of artwork on the site be entirely crafted by hand and humans alone, the reality is that I currently cannot.

If not for AI-generated images, there would be no visual examples for anything aside from the player characters, their father, the Crimson Court logo, and the house crests. As someone with an education background, I firmly believe that visual aids are important in a medium like D&D, as they help paint a picture where words might fail for some viewers.

I want to be completely transparent: as the channel grows and begins to become more profitable, I would love to go back and pay artists, real artists, to redo all of the art on the site. I want to pay artists for their work; I just am not wealthy enough to do that yet.

I am not here to debate the morality of AI and using it to generate images (not art, images), as that is a very in-depth discussion that requires more nuance than what most people are willing to give. My position is simple: human artists deserve support, and as soon as I can provide that support financially, I will.

All that to say, while I prefer REAL art done by REAL artists, AI images help to paint a picture where words might fail for some, and given my education background, I want to make sure anyone who comes to this site has a clear picture of the people and places all around Illica.
